Justice for Kayla Moore at Berkeley City Council this Tuesday!

This Tuesday at 7pm at the City Council Chambers, 2134 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Berkeley.

Please attend the Berkeley City Council meeting THIS Tuesday, November 12th at 7pm. The Council will be voting on a plan that is coming from the Community Health Commission and the NAACP that clearly lists some of the changes that Justice for Kayla Moore is also seeking. The council will vote on a list of recommendations that come out of a long process that includes the NAACP Town Hall meeting from last August.

Please come! Please speak! Please let the council know that you support their recommendations including:

* Implement a policy of non-Police involvement with Mental Health Services (BPD to have backup role for life-threatening matters).

* Implement the operations of the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Unit to operate 24 hours, 7 days a week.

THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN DEMANDING!!!! LET’S SHOW OUR SUPPORT!!! LET’S WIN!!!!

We believe that police should not be Berkeley’s only resource for care to those with Mental Health emergencies. Civilianize mental health and let professionals take the lead—NOT UNTRAINED COPS. We need you to speak during public comment and add your voice to the growing list of people who believe that Berkeley MUST change how it deals with mental health.
