This Saturday! Carwash and BBQ Fundraiser for Ms. Daisy Thomas

Sharena Thomas, co-founder of the People’s Community Medics, recently lost her mother to cancer and community members are organizing a car wash and BBQ for this coming Saturday, June 15th in Oakland to help defray the costs of months of bills during her mother’s illness and also to cover funeral costs. Below is the announcement, if folks can come thru or make a donation through We Pay at the link below.

People will also be handing out literature on current political projects, and using the space to connect struggles and strategies.

Community Carwash and BBQ * This Saturday, June 15 * 11am – 6pm 9oth Ave. & Bancroft, Oakland in honor of Ms. Daisy Thomas

Please come out and join us. We’ll leave your wheels squeaky clean for a $5 to $10 donation ($5 for smaller cars; $10 for trucks and vans).

BBQ chicken dinners will be available for a $5 donation.

Our co-founder, Sharena Diamond Thomas’ beloved mother, Daisy Thomas, passed away on June 1st after battling cancer. Sharena and her four children were her mother’s constant and loving caregivers. Funeral expenses are exorbitant and we are hoping you can help with a love donation of any amount at all. Services for Ms. Daisy are being planned and we will let you know the details as soon as they are available. We have set up a WePay page and if you would like to donate, you may click on the link below to make a donation.

The family thanks everyone so much for all the calls, visits, food, cards and donations received thus far.

♥ Rest in Peace, Ms. Daisy Thomas
