Berkeley Police Chief Resigns

Chief Meehan was felled by the Police Officers Association. The frightening thing is that it is the POA that really runs this town. Copwatch pushed back on efforts to militarize the BPD with camouflage uniforms, armored vehicles, spit hoods and maybe even tasers that were pushed by Meehan. Will Capt. Greenwood be any better? Probably not. He was Incident Commander during the disastrous police response to the Black Lives Matter protests of Dec. 2014. That was when the police gathered to "protect" the police station and didn't care at all about what happened to the rest of the city, including the City Hall building.
