Urban Shield is NOT about Training Officers

Check out the response to the questions of where officers get the training they need to go to the Urban Shield competition. It appears that officers get trained BEFORE they go to the competition. Urban Shield "training" is really the opportunity to DEMONSTRATE their training.

“So we have SWAT schools, POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training), standardized SWAT schools that people go to. Standardized California training classes. It’s an accumulation of skills.” – Lt.
