Berkeley City Council Passes Policing Reforms

Last night, Berkeley City Council passed police reforms that include a ban on "pretext stops" like a broken taillight, as well as a ban on officers asking about parole and probation status in most traffic-related circumstances.
This is only the beginning of addressing racial profiling and racist policing.
The police union is against this, and there is no timeline for implementation. We have seen BPD drag their feet when they do not want to comply. Will these changes be enforced?
